Automobile components manufacturers who engage in the energy and engineering sectors. Founded as a German ironmongery store in 1876 by Carl Benteler, the family company is now run by its fourth generation. The Benteler Group consists of three Divisions: Benteler Automotive, Benteler Steel/Tube and Benteler Distribution.
Brothers, Erich and Helmut Benteler, inherited the family business from their father in 1942 and built the company into a global engineering firm. Erich’s son, Hubertus Benteler, joined the business in the 80s and became its Chairman in 1991. Hubertus moved to the Supervisory Board in 2017 and has an estimated net worth of $1.5 billion. Hubertus’ son, Casper, spent time in the business but is now the Chairman of Benteler Trading International, a holding company for investments, which he split off from his family’s Group. Casper is expected to eventually rejoin and head the family business.
