Headquartered in Changwon, South Korea, the company was established in 1962 as Hyundai Yanghaeng, a construction materials trading firm.
Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. is a subsidiary of the Doosan Group, which was founded by Park Seung-jik in 1896. Prior to the Doosan Group’s acquisition and privatisation of the company in 2001, Hyundai Yanghaeng was nationalised by the Korean government and renamed Hanjung in 1980. Under the Doosan banner, the company has become a world-class energy and water plant specialist.
