Raúl Bailléres Chávez began BAL’s business activities by entering Mexico’s mining industry in the early 1900s. He later founded several key financial institutions in the country, such as Banca Cremi, which served the mining sector. Today, Alberto Bailléres heads the Group’s portfolio, which includes the insurance provider, GNP Seguros, the world’s leading silver producer, Peñoles, the exclusive retail chain, Palacio de Hierro, and the livestock firm, Begona. Today, Grupo BAL has more than 23,000 employees and sees revenue of over $10 billion.
