Russian-majority shareholder and head of the leading steel products manufacturer, NLMK Group. Vladimir Lisin became the owner of Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK) in 2000.
A former electrical fitter in a Siberian coal mine during the 70s, Lisin joined Russian traders, Trans-World Group, in 1992. The Group leveraged its market acquisitions to take control of Russia’s steel and aluminium industry until the company split in 2000. Lisin eventually became the sole owner of Trans-World and the majority shareholder of NLMK. Additionally, Lisin controls Universal Cargo Logistics Holding, which engages through its railway, shipping and port operations subsidiaries. In 2018, Vladimir Lisin was considered Russia’s richest man, with an estimated net worth of $19.3 billion. Vladimir has three sons, Vyacheslav Lisin, Aleksandr Lisin and Dmitry Lisin.
