SM Investments Corporation is a financial services, retail, banking and real estate conglomerate based in the Philippines. It was founded by Henry Sy in 1958 and is headquartered in Pasay, Philippines.

Originally a footwear store named Shoemart, the company transitioned to a department store model in 1972 and adopted the name SM. The company grew its presence in Manila in the 1980s, eventually opening its first mall in 1985.

SM continued the expansion of its mall segment throughout the 1990s and opened its first shopping mall in China in 2001. In 2003, SM entered the residential property space with its first condominium development and was listed on the stock exchange in 2005. The company’s hotels division was established in 2007.

SM merged its retail portfolio in 2016, which included food, household appliances, DIY, furniture, apparel, footwear and pharmaceutical segments.
