Headed by Swedish billionaire family, the Rausings, Tetra Laval International is an umbrella corporation for three corporate entities: Tetra Pak, Sidel and DeLaval. The Rausing family owns and largely operates from the holding company’s board, with each of the three firms having its own management structure.
The company was founded by Ruben Rausing in 1951. Since then, Tetra Pak has become an internationally recognised packaging giant, the leader in food processing and packaging. The company is now led by Ruben’s grandchildren: Jörn, Finn and Kirsten. In 2018, the Tetra Laval Group made net profits of $15.4 billion. They currently employ 35,882 people across their three groups.
Tetra Laval is also driven by their sustainability. They have several initiatives in regions around the world promoting their sustainability and accessibility models. In Kenya, they have established a Dairy Hub, which works to help farmers increase their production levels and maintain quality with their packaging.
